The Super Spreader “Secret” Prom

Schools in New Mexico finally reopened the week of April 5th, after being closed for more than a year, due to COVID-19. Five days later, somewhere between 100 and 200 students from Mayfield High School in Las Cruces (and possibly two other high schools) took part in a “secret” prom held in a still-undisclosed location.

The prom had a local DJ, who said the kids were happy and having lots of fun. However, this prom was not known to the Las Cruces Public Schools board or to the principal of MHS. As a result, Mayfield High will be closed once again, leaving students to take…
